Gaudete Sunday
A unique blend of Bacchus and our oak-aged Rosé, crafted with minimal intervention - unfiltered and unfined. This expressive wine marries the rich, textured body of the oak-aged Rosé with the zesty brightness of Bacchus.
Bursting with vibrant notes of grapefruit, cherry, strawberry, mandarin and lime, complemented by a hint of cream and pastry.
An indulgent yet refreshing wine. Gaudete in Latin means rejoice and there is no other option in front of a glass of this pale pink delight.
Only 130 bottles have been produced.

Gaudete Sunday is the third Sunday of advent. A day on which the penitential exercises suitable to preparing for the second coming of Christ are suspended to allow space for joy and gladness in the promised Redemption. More importantly, it is a day on which rose colour vestments are worn by the clergy.
At Fortieth Rule, we had our own break in preparations for our 2024 harvest releases with the creation of a very special, limited-edition blend. A blend of 80% Bacchus and 20% Pinot Noir Rosé, unfiltered and unfined, this wine is a beautiful light rose colour. For Josh, the rose vestments and corresponding joy of Gaudete Sunday immediately sprung to mind. And the name has stuck.
